Tears for Another Day

Doubts crushed on smiles

Doubts come from yesterday
and what you thought
would haunt your every choice
will stay back in the darkest
forest
of forbidden thoughts.

Tears are gone for today
there is no room
to shed other than joy
for all the things to come,
to see,
and to discover.
With new friends come
different beginnings
and good things
end or start all over.

In the flurry of winds
that change thoughts
or bring back what you first believed
was true.
You get caught in the rain
but it’s no longer gray and cold.
You greet it as renewal
of leaves and flowers
that bloom in your mind’s eye.
There is no better place to rest
than golden afternoons
with thoughts
mixed, shared, and brought to life
after so many years
of hidden draughts
of secret desires.

Shine without hesitation,
you won’t be crushed by changes
that land gently at your door.
They’re not meant to destroy
or tear your walls.
They will help you build a new house
to treasure all emotions
that make you find
reasons to smile.

Each morning
dew is there
on blades of grass or in your eyes.
The tears of joy are welcome
as you discover
there’s no grief
and you can look back gratefully
to everything you’ve lived through
without sadness.
