How to Get Ready for Kuohu by Eeva and Ella from Industryhack

Who you are and what do you do at Industryhack?
We are Eeva and Ella, and we help people solve big challenges together. We work with publicly listed companies as well as with public organisations, matching them to innovative teams from for example software & service design companies and startups. Ella works closely with our solver community and Eeva mainly works with our customers.

How should one get ready and prepared for Kuohu?
Come well rested and with an open mind! Be ready to work quickly, do not be afraid to improvise when necessary, and as cliche as it sounds, get ready to have some fun along the way!

Key ingredients to crack the best solution?
Ask as many questions as possible!! Don’t be shy when talking with your challenge hosts, and genuinely try to understand their problem before jumping into your solution. Second, don’t hopelessly fall in love with the first idea you come up with with your team, but allow the ideas to grow, change and evolve as you get further. Third is understanding the time restriction, so try to think the solution as a whole as quickly as possible and make changes as you go.

What makes a good team?
All in all, we believe that the strongest teams are a set of individuals with an unique skill sets and backgrounds when compared to one another. That way, you can better avoid the pitfalls of groupthink and you’ll have the best setup for succeeding with your solution, which often has to have a holistic view to the given challenge. Also, if you haven’t met your teammates beforehand, make sure that you’ve met them before the event!

What are you looking forward to see at Kuohu?
The participants!! Kuohu is very special in bringing together people with unique talents, so looking forward to get to meet, listen and mentor YOU! :)
