EXPERIENCE WHILE COLLECTING FUNDS FOR EDHI FOUNDATION

Donating funds is an act of generosity and care. This encourages the people to help others in the hour of need. We used to think that the process of collecting funds was an easy task until we started working on this project of problem solving.Donating to a charity, the size of our donation relates to the number of individuals we can help. Yet, we don’t need to be a mogul to have a tremendous effect; even a little donation can make a change. With hopes to make a change I started working on collecting donations for Edhi Foundation.

How was the experience of convincing people to donate funds for a social cause?

At first, we went out to people specially with whom we work or spend most of our time. It was pretty easy to convince them to donate but the real struggle began when we went out to the people who we don’t know. This was challenging as they first thought that it can be scam of just collecting money but then we started to tell them about ourself first and then from start to end about Edhi Foundation and How it has become more challenging for Faisal Edhi to collect funds and run the organisation.

Did you convince and engage with people individually or in a group? How was it different?

we try to convince and engage people individually as well in a group. In my point of view for convincing individual is easier than in a group because trust factor was also came. Especially todays there are different type of scam occur in Pakistan therefore to convince people is difficult task. By contributing to a cause, you are working towards making the world a better place. The donation of your time, money, or items goes to those who need it most. You can increase your impact by encouraging your friends, family, colleagues, and networks to give as well. we told that the charity is to help humanity and it will return you hereafter.

3) What challenges did you face? And how did you overcome those challenges

At first, we were disappointed because no one respond but we tried on daily basis through status as well as forward the message in a group and individual. Implementing some small tips will help solve the greatest challenges face with processing donations. People cannot understand how to donate from easy paisa, bank account . we told the donator to send money in our account after that we sent the money to Edhi foundation and then send screenshot of that people.

How has this experience helped you in accepting failure?

Without this failure, they would not learn how to succeed.

Moving into adulthood and professional life, failure is very often viewed as a negative thing.

we have certainly found that the hardest and most important lessons have always come from our failures it’s what ultimately helped us become successful. Failure is a part of learning. While the idea of failing can seem scary, it helps students develop learning skills, boost their sense of determination, and build self-esteem. Failure is an opportunity to grow.
